Colonies are slow growing, aerobic, Gram-positive, nonacid-fast, coarsely wrinkled to folded, and white or pink to red in color.
Filaments are well developed, branched, long, and fragmenting into spores. Aerial filaments are well developed and abundant.
Nocardiopsis dassonvillei produces acid from cellobiose, hydrolyzes xanthine, and is sensitive to lysozyme.
Handle with care, but special precautions are not necessary.
